Description :
This is the head of the Buddha, also called Borobudur Buddha as it is imitated from Borobudur temple.
Born as Siddhartha Gautama during the 6th or 5th century B.C. in today’s Nepal, and he is the initiator of Buddhism. After years of strict asceticism, he found the Way of the Middle was the solution. For days on ending he kept meditating under a papal tree until he finally became Buddha, the awakened or enlightened.
Until the age of 80 he taught his followers e.g. about the 4 noble truths and the noble 8 folded paths as a means of cessation from suffering.
